Darin Cash currently serves as Instructor of Low Brass at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, while also maintaining a successful private studio in Lubbock, Texas. In demand as a freelance musician, he performs on alto, tenor, and bass trombone in a variety of musical settings throughout the Southwest. Dr. Cash is currently bass trombonist with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, and second trombonist with the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale. Previously he performed as associate principal/second trombone with the Austin Opera Orchestra from 2004-2011. As an educator, Dr. Cash has held positions on the faculties of The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Georgia State University. He holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in trombone performance from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Bachelor of Music in music education from The University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Cash currently lives in Lubbock, Texas with his wife pianist Carla Davis Cash and their two sons.
